Mar 17 - Katie wins 2nd place at Canadian Snowboarding Championships.  We are so proud of her

Mar 16 - Nationals start today with Katie riding at Canada Olympic Park. She's gunning for the National Champion title and she wants it bad!

Mar 4 - The Mammoth Grand Prix was a great contest with Americans all on the podium and Katie coming in 8th place, a great finish for a Grand Prix! Katie is now at in Vermont for the US Open.  More information on this world class event can be found here

Mammoth Grand Prix Contest - Finally we will get in that half pipe!! The skies have cleared and the winds are down.  The skiers ride today but the snowboarders will take over the pipe on Saturday March 3rd for qualifiers and finals all in one day.  It's going to be a great contest! 

March 1 - Someone please turn off the wind machines!!!! Katie attends the Mammoth Grand Prix where the course has been on hold for three days now.  All the riders are hoping for the event to happen before Sunday because of flights booked to go to the US Open! 

Febuary 2012

Good bye Quebec, Hello Mammoth! Katie had a great placing of 12th place at the Quebec World Cup in Stoneham resort.  All the riders had some great runs in adverse weather.  Now Katie is in Mammoth California for a Grand Prix with some of the best riders in the States.  Check out her new blog up at the top for full details> 

The Winter Dew Tour is at a end and Katie has finished 10th overall in the contest today.  It was a beautiful day with everyone riding really well.  The top 5 girls will move on to finals tomorrow which will be aired live on NBC at 2pm.  Katie did some personal bests today landing two tricks she hasn't landed in a contest so far. Next week will be a training week for Katie at Breckenridge before heading to Quebec for the World Cup. 

Katie has arrived at Snowbasin in Utah which will be hosting the Toyota Dew Tour Championships.  Katie says the Half Pipe is looking great being the longest in the world at 615ft long.  She's feeling hot for the event and ready for the fierce competition.   

The Burton Canadian Open has ended and Katie placed 14th of 35.  This event was landmarked by Queault Castellet landing a frontside 1080, making her the second women to ever land that trick.  Katie will now be heading to Utah for the Toyota Dew Tour Championships.   

January 2012 

The Burton Canadian Open is on and Katie had qualified 4th place to make it to the semi finals.  Check out all the action live at the Burton Open website.  Katie will be riding with the rest of the world class riders including Kelly Clark, Gretchen Bleiler and Queralt Castlettte.   

Katie and the snowsports community is deeply saddened by the passing of most loved Sarah Burke on Jan 19 2012.  Please go to www.giveforward.com/sarahburke to help out and send condolences.

After spending time with family in Toronto for New Years, Katie heads back to Copper Colorado to have a training camp befor the Canadian Open at the start of Febuary.

Happy Holidays from Katie and her support team!  

The season has started and two contests are over.  Katie had a mid field finish at the Grand Prix and Dew Tour but there are still lots of time and contests in the season.  Back to training for Katie and some holiday action. 

Katie prepares for Copper Mountain's Grand Prix.  She will be qualifying on the 8th of December and finals are on the 10th.  Send Katie an email to show your support!

November 2011

Look for Katie on Global TV when they feature Iyashi Bedrock Spa.  The feature will be airing the week of the 21st-26th of November.  They will be showing this unique treatment which is only found in two places in North America.  Check out their website or watch Global TV to get the scoop.  

This month Kate is getting ready with trainers at Athletic Training Professionals, Sport Excel and Health Movements Pilates.  She is sure to get in some relaxation at her favourite place in Toronto,Iyashi Bedrock Spa.  Check out all the great sites to get a taste of Katie's pre-season training.

Exciting news! Whistler, Breckenridge and Copper Mountains are all open and ready for fun. Katie will be heading down there for training and contests.  She will be participating in The Winter Dew Tour and Grand Prix.  Good luck Katie.   

October 2011

Check out a charity event being held in Toronto Canada called the Big Give for Look Good Feel Good, which is a charity intended for cancer fighters.  Katie will be donating some items for the event and Alex Burgess and the Food Dudes will be catering the food.  This will be a great event so check out the site http://dothebiggive.com/  

Walt Disney World is happening and Katie is enjoying it with her family.  She in Florida right now enjoying some sun before the winter starts.  He father is also celebrating a birthday and Disney is his favorite place to do that.   

Katie is having a great time during the Cardrona Spring training camp that's happening for the first two weeks of October. She has been training hard with coach Roberto Marfia with FOCUS snowboarding.  

Scott USA will be joing the list of Katie's sponsors for this upcoming season so Katie will be getting a great selection of goggles to protect her eyes against all the elements that winter can throw at her.  

Watch out Disney! Katie will be coming down to Orlando Florida for some family fun time and to enjoy the Vanity Fair's Food and Drink festival at Epcot Centre.  She's looking forward to some time in the sun and with her nieces Taylor and Devon.  

September 2011

Cardrona spring camp is announced for October 3 - 16 and Katie and coach Roberto Marfia with FOCUS Elite will be participating.  Katie is excited to get some time on soft snow before the 2011/2012 season starts in Colorado.   

2011/2011 Competition schedule is released and Katie will be at the Dew Tours and Canadian Nationals. This season Katie is going to focus more on training for the 2014 Olympic Games and less on the hectic traveling and competition schedule.  

Katie is pleased to attend her cousin Emily Buttler's wedding where she will become Mrs Emily Russell Everett.  Katie will be a part of the bridal party as a bridesmaid and is excited to see her cousin very happy.  

August 2011

Katie is in Wanaka NZ right now in the thick of winter riding Snow Park where they just spent 20 million dollars on improvements at the facility.  With a new pipe and cutter, same as the Global Cutter in Whistler, BC, Snow Park is running at full capacity with some of the best riders in the world.  Look for her new Vblog up this week.  

This month Katie gears up for some training in New Zealand with Coach Roberto Marfia and Focus Elite coaching group.  She will be riding Snow Park and Cardrona which are near the small town of Wanaka in the South island.  Be sure to look for her video Blog on her adventures.

Katie participates in Sony's 5th annual charity golf tournament as Doug Wilson's (President of Sony Canada) assistant for "Beat the Prez" hole. Sony Canada Charitable Foundation raised more than $80,000 that was donated to Make a Wish Foundation and Sick Kids Hospital. Thanks to everyone who donated to the kids.  New Vblog in the works.

Katie is back to her home in Squamish, BC and this means she will be riding at Whistler Blackcomb for the spring.  Whistler Mountain is closed but Blackcomb is still open and its park is in full swing with jumps and rails of all sizes and a 22ft halfpipe.  Look for Katie's Video blog with lead park hand Brett Nakamoto.

Happy April Fool's Day! Katie gets back to it on Gapper Day in Breckenridge.  This day everyone puts on their wackiest outfits or 80s style costume and rides around the mountain.  Aside from all the entertainment, Katie is feeling great to be back in the halfpipe. 

March 2011

The Toronto SONY dealer show is on and Katie gets to see all the new products coming to Canada this year.  Some extra cool things are the new 3D Bloggie, Vaio touch desktop monitor and 3D gaming with Play station.  Check out Sony of Canada to see the hottest electronics around. 

Katie spends some time in Toronto to catch up on her Red Cross first aid and CPR.  She is also meeting with her Plates trainers http://healthmovement.ca/to get in some training.  Iyashi bedrock spa is another place where you can find her relaxing http://www.iyashibedrockspa.com/web/.   

At the US Open, Katie placed 12^thout of a field of more than 50 riders.  She is very happy with this result and looks forward to her family ski weekend with her parents and brother’s family with her two nieces Taylor and Devin at Stratton resort.

US Open is schedules for the 10^th of March.  Katie will be qualifying on the 8^th and she is happy to have her parents, brother, sister in law and nieces come down to Stratton Mountain Resort to watch her ride

At the Killington Dew Tour Stop Katie places 9^th Overall in the Super Pipe event.  It was a great placing after injury and against the best.  She was happy to be back on snow to ride with her friends again.
